Kiku Pattern Workshop

$76.00
Sold Out

Elevate your sashiko skills with the exclusive Kiku (Chrysanthemum) pattern workshop!

The Kiku (Chrysanthemum) pattern is my go-to for hand towels and handkerchiefs. This pattern is perfect for attaching a loop to your existing hand towels to make them more practical and give them an elegant touch at the same time. It's also ideal for reinforcing any corners on your fabric.

In this returning-students-only workshop, you will stitch a handkerchief using the Kiku pattern. It's a great opportunity to practice achieving a sashiko pattern that looks beautiful on both sides of the fabric without using knots. You'll refine your skills in Sashiko Unshin (運針) — the needle movement, learn how to plan your sewing route and understand how to extend your thread seamlessly.

You will stitch on authentic Japanese Sarashi fabric, which is perfect for sashiko. You'll take home a beautiful handkerchief and new skills.

Participants: 4-5 (returning students only)

Materials and tools: All materials and tools will be provided

Location: Home studio near Metro Mont-Royal (H2T 2G1). Details via email 2 days prior.

Hand-sewed this little pouch for my essential tools 🧵🪡. Now my beloved companions have a new home, ready to travel with me wherever I go. 🧚🏽‍♀️

I’m stitching a little pouch for my tools 🧵✂️🪡. My desk may look neat and tidy in videos, but behind the scenes it’s a bit more chaotic 😅. Still learning how to balance tidiness and creativity — maybe the mess is simply part of t
This summer, after a trip to Japan full of sashiko inspiration, I created a special multi-pattern hanafukin sampler for my new ✨ In-Depth Sashiko Hanafukin Workshop ✨.

Over four relaxed weekend sessions, I’ll guide you through traditional Japa
Some tenderness in handcrafting: hemp warp and weft, hand-dyed and interlaced in the gentle rhythm of a kakinohana pattern.
Un souffle de tendresse dans l’artisanat : les fils de chanvre, teints à la main, s’entrelacent au rythme d
An indigo exhibition in an ancient temple, rain falling on a pond surrounded by pine and maple, a quiet moment of stillness and meditation—when all of this happens in one place, in one moment, what could be better? @buaisou_i @ryosokuin
Some first-year machine knitting class projects! A cozy bonnet and cache-cou in fine merino, plus tabi socks in raw silk — soft, textured, and full of learning.

Quelques projets de tricot à la machine de ma première année
One of my first-year textile school projects was to weave the perfect plain weave, where the warp and weft interlace evenly to form a grid of perfect squares. After we finished weaving, our teacher asked us to dye the fabric to “desacralize&rdq
Another lovely pincushion workshop with returning students! 🧵✨
Hosting at my own space means I can’t accommodate as many people as in the beginner workshops, but it’s always cozy, relaxed, and full of great energy.
